Higher

The Mahapola Foundation established by him provided scholarships and provided

Higher Education in Foreign Universities
Introduction
• There are some important aspects to consider before going
abroad for higher education. This is not only related to the student but also
to the parents
Financial aspects
• Although there are many scholarship schemes for foreign
students based on merit, only a few can avail them.
• Also, we need to keep in mind the monetary differences
between the country of our choice and our own.
• Not everyone will get a place in university hostels. You
need to plan accordingly.
• You need to make a clear assessment of the airfare to and
from the country you are going to study, university or college fees,
accommodation and food expenses, and maintenance costs.
Safety
• In recent years, in Australia, Indian students have been
subjected to a series of racist attacks, raising various questions about the
safety of overseas education in India.
• In the UK, there have also been reports of the deaths of
some Indian students. This has increased the fear of parents sending their
children abroad for higher education.
Acclimatization
• This is where a student adjusts to the unfamiliar cultural
environment of a new country.
• The climate, living conditions, food habits, and
establishing the right relationships with the people around them are important.
